Dear Pampers

Dear Pampers,

I love you and your products, but...

Why did you have to design your Easy Up diapers with two different Dora the Explorer designs? My once lovely and happy three year old daughter is now screaming, screeching, and crying in her closet because she can't find the design with Dora's face on the front. So now my semi-quiet and peaceful morning, as quiet and peaceful as it can be with a toddler and baby twins, has been replaced with an unconsolable three year old. Toddlers are crazy. Please in the future, make one design so there is no choice in the matter. Fewer choices or none at all will help countless mothers, and fathers, of toddlers everywhere have a nice after potty time training experience.

Sincerely,
A Loyal Pampers Customer and Mother of 3

Does your husband yawn at the table?

Yipee!! Most husbands have stopped beating their wives! Good for them. But wait…now they have to endure agonizingly boring meals? That's just crazy! Husbands would much rather prefer dull conversations with their wives than a boring meal. Spice it up with Heinz! Do it now, lady, before your husband starts beating you again!

Comfy-Cozy Time

It's a weeknight at 8:30pm and our daughter and baby twins are finally asleep. All I can think about at this moment is:

We call it our Comfy-Cozy time. A time where we can sit on the couch next to one another and enjoy not only the quiet, but each other's company. We can talk about our day or things we want to plan for the future. We can watch one of our shows on DVR. We can utterly enjoy our hot beverages without the interruption of tiny voices.

We have the Tassimo machine, which in my opinion is far better than it's competitors (Keurig, for example). It uses real milk and cream to give that special drink the creamy foamy froth it deserves. My drink of choice, since I really do not like coffee, is their Chai Tea Latte. OMG it's like Christmas in your mouth! Seriously. It's the smoothest Chai that I've tasted and I love the milk creamer it comes with.

I love this time I get to spend with my husband. It's one of the few times during the hectic day that I get to be a wife and not Mommy. That may sound a little weird, but I think if a marriage with kids is to last, you need to have husband and wife time, not just mommy/daddy time. It doesn't have to take much effort. Just sitting on the couch enjoying our tea and coffee may be all we need.

Singleton Belly vs Twin Belly - My 2 Pregnancies

So this was the difference between my pregnant belly with my daughter and my pregnant belly with my twins. Wow. I thought I was big with my daughter, but would ya look at the gigantor belly with my twins! How did I even stand without falling over? And don't forget about those stretch marks. I barely had any when pregnant with one, but look how being pregnant with twins made my belly look like a road map.

It's strange because with both pregnancies I didn't think I was as big as I was. I loved having a pregnant belly, although when pregnant with twins, it did get extremely difficult. It was hard to do everything from simply getting on and off a chair to just walking to the bathroom. Plus I had a 2 year old to contend with. Life was not easy for me for those 34 weeks but it was worth every bit of discomfort!

Lily came at 37 weeks                                                                                            Killian & Piper came at 34 weeks 4 days

Baked and Reviewed: Soft Batch Double Chocolate Fudge Cookies

Holy mother of Chocolate! This recipe I found HERE for Soft Batch Double Chocolate Fudge Cookies are to die for. Seriously. Just look at them:

If you absolutely love chocolate, you must try these. They are no joke. They are really big cookies. 1/4 cup of raw dough will bake up to be a pretty good size cookie that you can savor. Make sure you have some kind of drink with these. I pair it with my favorite Chai Tea Latte, but a cold glass of milk or hot cup of coffee will do just fine as well.

Pros:
  • C-H-O-C-O-L-A-T-E Chocolate!
  • Soft
  • 1 will keep you satisfied because of the size
Cons:
  • Because of the size, you only get 12 cookies out of one batch.
So this will definitely be my go to cookie whenever I need a chocolate fix. I seriously need to bake more of these.

That's it. Bake these up right now. Do it! Then tell me your thoughts.

Flowers

I melted. Right there in bed, I melted as my 3 year old daughter, Lily, reached out her arm to me and said, "Here Mommy, flowers." A few minutes earlier she had rolled over to the side of the bed. She leaned down over the edge and it looked as though she was picking something up off of the floor. Little did I know, she was.

I love my daughter and her imagination. It inspires me to be more creative, more imaginative. I love when Lily, out of nowhere, hands me some imaginary food to eat or hands me some flowers. She does this with her brother and sister too. Lily will be sitting next to them and pretend feed them food from her hand. It's funny because her brother and sister, my twins, are only 4 months old and yet, they seem to play along. I'm sure it's just a reflex thing, but when Lily offers them "food" they open their mouths to take it.

I relish moments like these because I'm not sure how long they will last. Today she pretends to give flowers to me, tomorrow she may not. I will keep all those imaginary flowers so when she no longer does this, my heart will be a field of her love.

Are your twins natural?

When you have twins, I guess it's acceptable for complete strangers to ask really personal questions. Almost everyone asks some sort of inappropriate question to a mother of twins. I didn't realize this with my first, her being a singleton, but now that I have twins, it's just ridiculous. You don't just get asked if they are a boy or girl, but questions that are just none of anybody's business. "Are they natural?" comes up a lot. Mine, were as natural as they could have been going through IVF, no big secret if you know me, but do I really need to disclose that information to some lady at the checkout counter? Bitch, please! So from now on, the above statement will be my answer to that question! It's perfectly sarcastic and I love it. I can't wait to say it and see the reaction I get.

Baked and Reviewed: Texas Sheet Cake Cookies

I love baking cookies, of all sorts. I found this recipe for Texas Sheet Cake Cookies, HERE, and I thought I'd give 'em a try. I'm really glad I did. Here's what they look like:

Beautifully yummy! Don't ya think?

Anyway, here is my review on them in case anybody wants to bake them up.

Pros:

  • Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate!
  • The icing is so yummy it almost didn't make it to the cookie.
  • I liked the consistency of the batter  - very smooth and easy to handle.
  • Very tasty, especially after they have been sitting around for a day.
  • They stay chewy soft.

Cons:
  • A little messy to make, but who really cares about having to clean up chocolate with your mouth? Not me!
  • The icing remains a little soft so you need to be careful storing them.
  • The wait time to have the cookies cool before pouring the chocolate icing on and then the wait time to have the icing settle before you can eat them.

All in all, these weren't a hard cookie to make. It's hard to wait though, when you want chocolate NOW!!! So be prepared to wait about a half hour to hour after your done with these to devour them.
